The way that one person can be good and another person be bad, therefore making them both neither good nor evil, is through their thoughts and desires, which come from their thoughts and feelings combined together as a whole.

This idea has been around for hundreds of years and has been accepted by many, but not all. As it stands now, Buddhism has a large following who believe in the idea of the self or soul existing after all.
